The Apostle Paul's epistle to his younger colleague and assistant Timothy is broken into two parts with 10 total chapters and is focused on the laws, false doctrines and teachers, instructions for prayer, instructions for leaders in the church, and community relations in the church.

1 Timothy 1 Paul Condemns False Teachers and Instructs Timothy

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; 2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Timothy 2 Worship Instructions for the Church
1 Timothy 3 Church Leadership Requirements

1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1 Timothy 4 Further Instructions for Church Members
1 Timothy 5 Instructions for Treating Widows, Elders, Slaves
1 Timothy 6 False Teachers and Money

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

2 Timothy 1 Paul and Loyalty
2 Timothy 2 Endurance and False Teachers
2 Timothy 3 The Last Days and Encouragement from Paul

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2 Timothy 4 Paul's Final Words to Timothy

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
