Is The Tailbone Vestigial?

The tailbone (coccyx) is a triangular-shaped bone located at the end of the spine that serves as an attachment point for tendons, ligaments, and muscles and therefore is part of the human body design. It also functions as an insertion point of some of the muscles of the pelvic floor. The tailbone also supports and stabilizes a person while he or she is in a sitting position, and therefore is part of the design of the frame of the body. Evolutionists claim that the tailbone is a remnant of a former tail but this is based on the assumption that humans evolved from an animal with a tail. The tailbone, however, was designed as a connecting point for the spine, tendons, ligaments, and muscles while supporting these parts of the body.
