The Space Time Concept
by Owen Borville
July 18, 2024
Astronomy, Physics

In physics and mathematics, space-time is a concept that unites three dimensions of space with one dimension of time into a single four-dimensional concept.

The space time concept was proposed in 1908 by Hermann Minkowski by geometrically combining three dimensions of space with time.

Minkowski's space-time concept was useful in understanding and reformulating the theory of special relativity proposed by Albert Einstein in 1905, which led to development of the general theory of relativity proposed by Einstein, where spacetime is curved by mass and energy.
