 Seismic fractal patterns

Seismic Fractal Patterns

Science

Seismic fractal patterns are produced in the Earth's crust by earthquakes. The seismic faults produced display a fractal pattern, according to many seismologists.

Each seismic fault produced is unique and a fractal pattern of seismic faults are produced during an earthquake.

The fractal pattern in seismic waves and faults is repeated at progressively smaller scales toward infinity, defining the fractal nature.

Seismic waves produced by earthquakes produce fractal patterns that are reflected on seismograph and geophysical instruments.

Seismic data and its fractal nature can help predict earthquake behavior.
