Rapid Coastal Erosion Rates Support the Creation Model

The observed erosion rate of elevated rocky coastlines today support a young earth. These coastlines and their rocky cliff formations are labeled with millions of years of age by mainstream scientists. However, the current rate of erosion on these coastal cliffs features simply does not support millions of years of time. Reports of steep cliffs along coastlines collapsing around the world are numerous and are caused by the rapid rate of erosion that is currently ongoing. These rapid rates of erosion could not possibly have been occurring for millions of years or there would not be any coastal cliffs or structures left in the world. Coastlines in California and southern Australia, the limestone chalk cliffs of England, and many other places demonstrate this rapid rate of erosion. Many observers of these coastal cliffs have fell to their deaths as the rock under their feet collapses and crumbles into the coastline.
These rapid rates of erosion have creationists questioning why the continents and mountains have not been eroded flat over the proposed hundreds of millions of years of geologic time and the 4.5 billion year old earth. Evolutionists propose that the landscape is constantly being uplifted by tectonic forces over millions of years. However, with the rapid rate of erosion observed, the continents would still be eroded flat over such long time periods. The rapid rates of coastal erosion today are in line with the creationist timeline of less than 5,000 years since the global flood described in the Book of Genesis.
