Pornography Should be Banned for Everyone Worldwide

Pornography should be banned. This is an article explaining why pornography should be banned in the U.S. and the world.
There are many reasons why pornography should be banned and there is not one single benefit to society for pornography. Everything about pornography is bad, wrong, terrible, and destructive to society. Pornography is simply bad for society.
Why is pornography bad for society?
Pornography ruins marriages and relationships, causing divorce, single parenthood, poverty, and reduces the desire and ability to get married and have children. Some people even postpone marriage because of the availability of pornography.
Pornography creates and inspires sexual predators and the sex trafficking industry who are dangerous to society. These people kidnap children and young women from around the world, particularly in war-torn regions and force them to perform sexual favors for themselves or work sex-themed businesses in order to make money off of them and exploiting them. However, even children in America are being kidnapped and trafficked into this terrible industry.
Pornography creates the desire for sexual relations outside marriage, which causes unexpected pregnancies, which causes demand for abortion services, unwed and unplanned pregnancies, and single parenthood. Pornography inspires unwanted and immoral behavior in many people. Those who view pornography are inspired to emulate what they are seeing, and that causes more sexual assaults among the population. Multiple people associated with the entertainment industry and other industries have been accused and have been found guilty of sexual assaults.
Pornography distracts people from work and makes them idle, unmotivated, unfocused, and lazy. Pornography reduces the ability of America and the world to become a successful nation, as many people are addicted to pornography. Pornography traps people into an addiction that is difficult to come out of and makes them lose desire to work and have successful careers.
Pornography is not free speech. Free speech is one's ideas about topics in the form of spoken or written words, music, or artwork. Americans can give their ideas about a particular issue in speech and written word. Free speech has nothing to do with pornography and pornography is simply an immoral activity that should be illegal in a respectable, developed society.
Pornography should not be considered art. Any product produced for the purpose of sexual arousal should not be considered art and should not be displayed publicly where people can view it and develop an addiction. Pornography should not be included in movies or television shows for the same reason. There is no reason pornography should be in tv or movies for the public to see. Pornography should not be hidden or laundered, as it commonly is in movies and TV shows. Just like many other crimes, like money laundering and drug laundering, pornography can be hidden inside a legitimate business operation to reduce negative feedback. The pornography industry is likely funding its business into movies and television.
Pornography is unacceptable and dangerous at any age. Pornography is nor more or less dangerous for a 17 year old as it is for an 18 year old or an 80 year old person. Most sexual predators are grown men twice or three times this age. Pornography can destroy anyone's life, regardless of age or gender. However, pornography is more dangerous for younger children and causes mental problems in younger children, hurting their chances of having a successful life and marriage. Children's brains are still developing and exposure to pornography can have negative psychological affects on children that endure throughout their lives.
Pornography is prostitution, which is already illegal in most of the U.S. and has been for a long time. Why is pornography legal while prostitution is not? Both should be illegal because both are making money off of the sex industry. One version is videorecorded and the other is not videorecorded. All participants are paid, so what is the difference?
Pornography has a similar effect as drugs. If drugs are illegal, so should pornography.
Pornography has no benefit to anyone. Name one benefit of pornography. Go ahead. I will wait.
"Pornography bans cannot be enforced" is a common lie circulating in the media. There are many ways in which pornography bans can work and eliminate most of the negative effects. The technology exists to block pornography, however, the government must get on board and allow these blocking devices to be implemented and stop the negative effects of pornography in our culture. Since the internet has been available in the 1990's, internet pornography usage has grown exponentially in the last 30 years.
The churches and religious groups seem to have given up on the issue of pornography. However, pornography usage is affecting the churches also in a negative way just as it is affecting the entire population. Many church members are addicted to pornography, and sadly, even church leaders. Therefore, the churches should continue to promote bans on pornography for the sake of the future of our culture. They should use their rights as American citizens to voice their opinion.
Morality and decency is worth preserving in our culture. Pornography only harms people and does not help anyone. Our culture should promote marriage and family and not pornography. Cultures with healthy marriages and children are the most successful in all parts of the world and our culture should promote marriage and family instead of allowing legalized pornography. Pornography is destroying our culture and way of life. Once we lose our culture, we may not get it back. The culture of morality and decency is worth preserving.
Most of us believe in God. How can we expect God's blessings in our life and culture if we allow things like pornography? How can the U.S. claim moral authority in the world and be an example for other countries to follow when it allows the promotion of pornography and allows the export of it around the world?
The capitalist system in the U.S. and the world allows pornography. However, what good is capitalism and economic growth without morality? The negative effects greatly outweigh the legality of pornography, just like drugs. Families are destroyed by pornography and the problems are difficult to erase.
The radical feminist movement seems to parallel with pornography, as it is a way that single, independent women can make a living without depending on a man or husband. However, again, the negative effects outweigh any claimed benefit of pornography. What good is providing more jobs for young, single, feminist women when the negative effects of pornography greatly outweigh any positive? More families will be destroyed and there will be fewer stable families as long as pornography is legal.
