Bible

Jesus Explained the Parable of the Householder or Scribe:

Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. Matthew 13:52

The parable describes a scribe, or one who copies manuscripts like scriptures, who is symbolized as a householder in the kingdom of heaven. "New and Old" is believed to symbolize both the Old and New Testament of the Biblical scriptures who believes and proclaims both. "New and Old" could also symbolize both new and old followers of the Lord or disciples.
