Manganese Nodules Form Rapidly According to the Creation Model

Manganese nodules are spherical mineral deposits or concretions that occur in a large percentage of the ocean floor in the upper sediments and in some lakes. Manganese nodules can contain (in addition to manganese) iron, nickel, copper, and other metallic minerals. These metallic spherical clusters are claimed by evolutionists to grow only a few millimeters every million years, one of the slowest formation rates of any substance in nature. However, creationists have shown evidence that these nodules form much faster within the 6,000-year Biblical timeline. Manganese nodules are believed to form as a result of precipitation of metallic minerals from seawater or subsurface sediment water. However, most manganese nodules are found in the uppermost part of the deep-sea sediment near the seafloor with little or any present in the lower sections of the sediment. This observation contradicts the uniformitarian principles of gradual and uniform sedimentation rates during nodule formation. Therefore, if uniformitarian processes have occurred over millions of years, manganese nodules should be present throughout the entire section of deep sea sediment. In contrast, the nodules are mostly found in the uppermost section of the sediments, giving evidence of recent formation for these nodules. If uniformitarian processes are correct, there should be manganese nodules present throughout the seafloor sediment stratigraphy reaching kilometers deep and not just the upper section near the seafloor. The location of manganese nodules in the upper sediment also gives strong evidence of the youth of deep-ocean sediments and ocean floor within the Biblical timescale.
