Man's Dominion Over Earth Described in Genesis 1

Bible

When God created man, authority and dominion was given to man over the Earth.

God created the Earth and everything in it and gave it to man.

As the Spirit of God moved over the Earth, the Earth was transformed from a dark, void, and formeless planet like the other planets into a beautiful, habitable place to live with everything that man needed to live.

This must come by way of Love, as God created man and wanted to make sure man could live well and abundantly on Earth.

A loving God would not send man to a place where he could not live abundantly and not have the essentials of life.

It was not essential to do this, but since God loved man, he gave him everything on Earth to use for his benefit.

God instructed man to multiply and replenish the Earth and God gave man dominion over the animals of the Earth, or the ability to control the animals of the Earth, including the sea creatures, birds, and land animals along with every seed-bearing plant.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Genesis 1:28-29 KJV.

Therefore, God gave man what he needed to live on the Earth: animals and plants to use for food, clothing, and other uses for living needs.

However, man has a responsibility to live by God's commandments and to take care of what God has given.

As is described later in the Book of Genesis, man would disobey God's commandment and therefore man was appropriately punished for his disobedience.

Just as God is the Creator of everything on Earth and He has given us everything on Earth for our needs, man has an obligation to follow God's commandments or we will face judgement later.
