Jesus: No Bones Broken Prophetic Words Fulfilled

Bible

The New Testament Gospels describe and give the details of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, including the fact that no bones were broken, a fact that was predicted by several prophetic Old Testament scripture verses. The Roman soldiers broke the legs of the other two men who were being crucified in order to ensure that they completely dehydrated and died. The Jewish leaders did not want any bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath occurring on the following day, therefore they urged Pilate have the legs broken and the bodies taken down quicker. However, when the soldiers looked at Jesus, they noticed that he was already dead, so the soldiers did not break his legs, but one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, causing a sudden flow of blood and water. This fulfillment of prophetic scripture was recorded in John 19:31-37, which was predicted or symbolized by verses in Exodus 12:46, Numbers 9:11-12, Psalm 34:19-20 and Zechariah 12:10.

John 19:31-37
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. 33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: 34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. 35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. 36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. 37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Exodus 12:46 explains a Passover meal restriction for meat preparation that is symbolic of the future Messiah:

...Do not break any of the bones.

Numbers 9:11-12 gives another Passover meal restriction for meat preparation that symbolizes the future Messiah:

...They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 12 They must not leave any of it till morning or break any of its bones.

Psalm 34:20 says:

...he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

Zechariah 12:10 says:

...They will look on the one they have pierced.

The accuracy of the Biblical scriptures is confirmed with the many prophetic writings contained in the Old Testament and the New Testament and any doubt that these scriptures are the Word of God should be erased when one examines these scriptures.
