Heart Rate Pattern

The Heart Rate Fractal Pattern and Sound Pattern
by Owen Borville

Science

The heart rate frequency pattern of humans and animals has been found to follow a fractal pattern. In other words, the heart rate frequency is a pattern of time rather than shape and morphology.

Fractals can be defined as any type of repeated pattern that occurs at infinite scales, and therefore the heartbeat has been observed to follow such a pattern.

The sound of the heartbeat is also a fractal pattern, as the heartbeat in animals is known to feature an alternating double sound pattern, informally described as "lub-dub." These sounds are produced by various valves in the heart as they close during a heartbeat cycle. Some valves of the heart close to produce the first pumping sound and then other valves close to produce the next sound. This alternating pumping sound, or double-sound pattern continues continuously or infinitely as long as the animal is living and has a healthy heartbeat.
