The Giant Weta is a Living Fossil

The giant weta is the largest and heaviest insect on earth, reaching up to six inches long. Its name means "god of ugly things" in the Maori language. The giant weta comes from New Zealand and looks like a large grasshopper or cricket. The giant weta is too heavy to fly or jump. Rats and other mammal predators have caused the giant weta to be close to extinction. It doesn't have lungs and breathes through its exoskeleton through holes that connect to ever part of the body. Oddly, the giant weta loves carrots. Wetas hibernate during the winter cold and shut off their heartbeat, breathing, and brain activity. When the temperatures rise, the weta comes back to life.

Weta fossils date to the Triassic Period of the evolutionist time scale, some 190 million years ago, making the presumed age older than dinosaurs. However, scientists notice the striking similarity of fossils to the living representatives. making the weta a living fossil, and fitting in with the creationist time scale of 6,000 years. How can this insect not change in shape in over 190 million years unless it was a product of a special creation some 6,000 years ago designed by a Powerful Creator?
