Fossils Appear Abruptly in the Stratigraphic Rock Record

Geology, Biology

Creationists have noted that fossils appear abruptly in the stratigraphic rock layers and later disappear, giving evidence of creation and questioning the evolutionist model of gradual transitional species. These transitional species are simply not found in the fossil record and fossils of a particular species generally remain identical in shape and morphology until they disappear in the strata. This abrupt appearance and disappearance of fossil species or kinds does not support the evolutionist model of macroevolution or major changes in morphology over long periods of time. In addition, this abrupt appearance of fossil species and kinds gives strong evidence of their creation fully mature and developed during the creation week. In particular, the strata identified by evolutionists as Cambrian and Ordovician contain many of these abrupt appearances of new species in the fossil record with no sign of transitional forms. Scientists even recognize this "explosion of life" found in the Cambrian period but refuse to acknowledge the creation event. Creationists recognize the pre-Cambrian-Cambrian stratigraphic boundary as the beginning of the Genesis Flood event where many species and kinds were buried in a great mass extinction that continues throughout the fossil record as more sedimentary layers were deposited. Evolutionists commonly identify a particular fossil as a transitional fossil when it actually is a uniquely created species or a variation of the same kind. While variations of species or kinds are found in the fossil record, these variations are within the creationist model and do not prove evolution from one species or kind to another. Evolutionists commonly identify variations in the fossil record as transitional forms of the evolutionary process from one species to another and do not realize that these variations are from the same species or kind. Creationists also recognize that the stratigraphic rock layers were deposited during the one-year catastrophic flood of Genesis and not with millions of years between each layer as the evolutionists do. If there were transitional fossils in the fossil record over millions of years, the rock strata should be filled with these transitional fossil forms. However, evolutionists have trouble finding these transitional fossil forms and can only find uniquely designed species and kinds that appear abruptly in the fossil record just as the creationist model explains. Evolutionists continue to "cover-up" for their "grand theory" of macroevolution and the uninformed general public mostly accepts mainstream scientists work because they have advanced degrees attached to their name. For those members of the general public who have taken the time to consider the evidence for the creation model, acceptance has been much easier.
