The firefly is classified with the Lampyridae family of insects and are known as soft-bodied beetles that have a unique glow that is easily seen during the night hours or in darkness. Scientists recognize that the firefly exerts this bioluminescence in order to attract mates or prey. The light produced by a firefly is produced by a chemical reaction in the lower abdomen that produces what is known as a bioluminescence. When oxygen reacts with calcium and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and the chemical luciferin along with luciferase, which is a enzyme that helps spur the production of light, the bioluminescence or light occurs. This light produces much less heat than the artificial light from a bulb and therefore does not harm the firefly. Therefore, the firefly is an efficient producer of light, a process that makes the firefly unique and displays the grand design of an intelligent designer who created all life during Creation Week 6,000 years ago. Scientists are not even sure how the firefly turns its light switch on and off and this light does not produce any heat. It there was heat, the firefly could not survive. There is so much that mainstream scientists do not know but the evidence for design is apparent.
