The Geography of Europe

Europe contains many peninsulas and is surrounded by many bodies of water, including oceans, seas, and lakes. Europe is separated from Asia by the Ural mountains. Mountain ranges run along southern Europe, including the Alps. The Verdon Gorge, the Dolomites, and the Matterhorn are some of the well known natural wonders. The Cliffs of Moher, and the chalk cliffs of northern Europe are also well known. Major rivers include the Danube and the Rhine. The Mediterranean Sea to the south is a very large body of water, along with the Black Sea to the east, and the Baltic and North seas.
