David Facts and Parallels with Jesus

David was born in Bethlehem just like Jesus
David was the youngest of Eight Sons of Jesse, Jesus was very young compared to his brothers
David was a humble shepherd and farmer, Jesus was the Shepherd in a spiritual sense
David was a well-known musician, poet, Jesus spoke in parables
David had a "Heart Like God" 1 Samuel 13:14, Jesus was the Son of God
David was considered the greatest king in Israel's history, Jesus is the promised eternal King
David was Israel's second King 
David was anointed by Samuel the prophet as King of Israel while Saul was still King
​God made a covenant with David in 2 Samuel 7:14: "I will be father to him, and he shall be a son to me." God also makes the covenant everlasting: "your throne will be established forever." 2 Samuel 7:16.
David worked for Saul, the first king, before becoming King
David was named king in Hebron before being named king of all Israel
David established Jerusalem as Capital of Israel
David moved the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem
David was a Strong Warrior who Defeated the Philistines
David Killed Goliath the Philistine
David's military success aroused the jealousy of King Saul
David fled to southern Judah and Philista as Saul tried to kill him
David was an outlaw while hiding
David, despite his faith, made mistakes:
David an affair with Bathsheba, who produced Solomon.
