The Book of Colossians was an epistle written by Paul to the church at Colossae in southwestern Asia Minor. Paul was in prison while writing the epistle. The epistle is divided into two parts: the first two chapters focus on Jesus Christ, who he is and his authority and purpose. The last two chapters in the epistle focus on instructions for living including families and households.

Colossians 1 Prayer, Supremacy and Power of the Son

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Colossians 2 The Power of Christ

6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

Colossians 3 Instructions for Living, Families, and Households

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Colossians 4 Final Instructions and Words From Paul

2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
